  • Reactivity-Controlled Compression Ignition (RCCI) is an advancedcombustion concept characterized by:
  • Premixed combustion
  • Low temperature combustion (LTC)
  • Dual fuel reactivity gradient control 
  • RCCI avoids locally fuel-rich and high-temperature combustionregions, thereby:
  • Mitigating the conventional soot–NOₓ trade-off
  • Reducing heat losses → higher thermal efficiency
